Most testing was originally carried out during winter months, when ground conditions were found to be very wet.

Although this was not the best way to obtain maximum holding power, we decided to use these figures as a worst case scenario. This in effect gives the least holding power for the products, bearing in mind the different types of ground that will be encountered within in this country, and of course abroad.

One very good example is that our STORM awning anchor now distributed in Europe by ISABELLA, DENMARK, gave a wet test of l/lOth ton but when tested in dry hard ground, held to very nearly 3/4 ton.(Anchor size only 250mm) see Isabella link for actual product.

A further example of worth of testing is that we compared a standard canal boat stay with a same length 400mm spiral from Spyra-Base. We found our product held three times longer than the canal stay.

Finally, during destruction tests none of our products have broken.

The need for testing was generally thought necessary due to the absence of any credible like product being on the market. This has led to the thickness of materials being decided by testing, as well as the length widths and various pitches being finalised.

Without the professional services supplied by Lloyds Testing PIc, we would not have the gained the product confidence necessary to go to market .

Due to the varying ground conditions

It issential that each anchor deployment/insertion is "PULL TESTEDON SITE",
to establish current ground conditions/holding power, Always check for under
ground untillities.
